Curve Appeal
A New Custom Home on Lake Norman has remnants of Cape May and Martha's Vineyard with an Americana mix of Nantucket and Hampton styles.
Curve Appeal
Front Entry. The front approach through a hidden venue.
Curve Appeal
Front Elevation. Roof massing was an important design feature as this custom home is relatively wide, offering views from nearly every room. A light mix of stone and curves gives a stately charm to this lakeside home.
Curve Appeal
Front Entry. Although appearing as a small porch overhang, it covers about five feet of entry way. A mix of shake and stone give this house a warm appeal.
Curve Appeal
Stair Tower. A highly desired feature by the owners was to have a turret. Functionally, it houses the grand staircase above and a wine cellar below.
Curve Appeal
Grand Staircase. Tall windows on the staircase act as a light well for both the upper and lower portions of the two-story Foyer.
Curve Appeal
Great Room. With outstanding views of open water on Lake Norman, a 'shotgun' entry gives an immediate view of the lake from the front door.
Curve Appeal
Great Room. Transoms over the french doors add lots of light to the space from the rear Veranda.
Curve Appeal
Informal Dining. As part of the Open Plan concept, the curved bank of windows adds to the openness of the Kitchen taking full advantage of a spectacular view of the lake.
Curve Appeal
Open Plan Kitchen. A large center island serves as additional storage and seating area.
Curve Appeal
Veranda. A colonnade frames the view of the lake from the Great Room. A mix of covered and open space gives plenty of elbow room for larger gatherings that meander to the outside.
Curve Appeal
Veranda and Upper Deck. The roof of the Veranda also seconds as an open Balcony above located outside of the Entertainment Room.
Curve Appeal
Rear Elevation. A gentle grassy knoll offers the opportunity for a open patio in front of the Veranda without the need for a railing. Another tower frames the views on the inside of the Causal Dining and Bedroom above.
Curve Appeal
Grand Staircase. At the hall above the Foyer, light comes through the Grand Stair to brighten the space.
Curve Appeal
Entertainment Room. French doors to this room allow ample light from the Foyer to keep it well lit. The step up allows for a higher ceiling in the Great Room below.
Curve Appeal
Entertainment Kitchenette. Tucked into a recess of the space allows the room to remain open for placement of furniture and ongoing activities.
Curve Appeal
Exterior Balcony. As overflow space off the Entertainment area, this space offers distant views of the open water on the lake.
Curve Appeal
Bedroom with Loft. Reclaimed space under the roof adds a feature for a small loft for children's sleep overs. A square 'port hole' close to the loft floor gives light to the space while providing yet another view.
Curve Appeal
View from the Bonus Room. The three-car garage allows for a spacious Bonus Area and Storage.
Curve Appeal
Three-car Garage. The Bonus Room above and another Bedroom over the Friend's Entry get views of the lake.
Curve Appeal
Master Suite. A vaulted ceiling centered on the bay window gives a sense of grandeur on this modest sized bedroom.
Curve Appeal
Master Bath. Even the sink area has a view of the lake from the side of the house.
Curve Appeal
Shower in Master Bath. Two windows allow light in. Many Master Baths no longer have a tub, just an expansive shower with a flush floor.
Curve Appeal
Exterior Balcony.
